Are the robot and space ship related or coincidental? Or is that a mystery, too?

That is also part of the mystery. There should be many mysteries if this is analyzed in detail.

Interesting creation. I especially like the flash of light at the end. What program(s) do you use to design your models and animation?

I use Blender. It's free and open source.The flash at the end required a bit of creativity. The intensity of light sources cannot be animated in Blender. I developed a workaround by making a glowing white sphere grow.
