What is wrong with my tub?
Wed Apr 7, 2010 5:25:27 pm

My landlord's son is the property manager for my apartment. He slipped a note under my door last night stating that he had to come by today to look at my tub. I have no idea why. He was here around 7 this morning. I stayed in bed and did not check his work until I got up at 9. I didn't see any changes to my tub, but the cap on the bathroom sink's faucet had been popped off. He came back a few hours later and reinstalled the cap. I still don't see any change to the tub and I have no idea why he was making adjustments to the faucet.

I have thought this many times despite the fact that he is married. He also goes through my garbage and keeps stuff.

If there is a leak in the apartment underneath you then they would need to check your tub to see if it was the cause.

Interesting. Nobody lives in the apartment below, because there had been extensive water damage several years ago and the landlord didn't want to spend the money on repairs. The source of the leak was never found, but I'm certain that is due to incompetence of the amateur plumber that they always use.

That doesn't explain why he popped the cap off the sink. If he suspected that was the source of the leak, he should have been able to confirm that by just looking under the sink.

I'd like to know why he goes through your trash.

I think that the official reason is to ensure that I separate out the recycling properly, because the sanitation department imposes fines for that, but he keeps some of my junk.

speculating about it when you could just ask is silly
Speculation is more fun.

I would have to ask. No way I'd contain my curiosity. And it would creep me right out if I saw someone going through my garbage and keeping stuff.

Sanitation Police really exist. I see them in my neighborhood several times a year.

He was stealing DNA evidence (hair, most likely, from your sink). He's going to frame you for murder.

This would not surprise me. He is even less conversational than I am, which is highly suspicious.

Maybe before you moved in, he killed someone in that bathroom, and he was checking to make sure no DNA evidence remained. If there is, and he ever becomes a suspect, he's planning to pin it on you.
