So, there's this guy at softball who is sometimes the butt of my jokes. Understand, when I say 'sometimes', I mean always. He's just a really nebbish guy (but a great guy, and I also point this out often), and making jokes about the caricature of who he is is just plain fun. He has most always been okay with and even participated in it, but it does bother him occasionally, and at those points I back off. He is a friend, after all. I've been absent from softball for a few weeks with an injury that will keep me out for most of the summer and as this is basically a league of old women, there's always lots of gossip. Apparently, some of the newer guys in the league don't realize that i'm just having good humored fun with this guy, and it got back to him so now he's taking it seriously. He wants people to know that I don't really dislike him. And I don't. The guy is quirky and a complete pessimistic mess, but he's genuinely kind. So I am going to do the only thing I can do. I just custom made and ordered a tee shirt with his face on it that reads "MY FAVORITE -GUY'S NAME" (in the style of 'my favorite martian') and I am going to wear it to softball. This is going to be either awesome or hilariously scarring, and I can't wait to find out which...
