Kiwi Swine flu strikes back...
New Zealand hospitals have been flooded this week with people being admitted with suspected swine flu, bringing the years total to 222 cases.
Suspected swine flu is the reason 58 people have been admitted to hospital this week. It brings the total to 222 admitted this year. This from a population of 4.2 million people.
The Ministry of Health says the number of calls to Healthline also continues to increase, and last week 22.4% of all calls were related to influenza-like illness.
That is the highest rate seen this year, but it is still well below the 35.8% seen at this time last year.

Swine flu has actually been shown to be statistically less harmful than regular seasonal flu. All the warnings about the dangers seem to have been unfounded.

True. But victims with existing health/medical problems are mainly the ones dying. Four have died here, two last week.
