I was having a weird dream about being offered a teaching job by former mayor Edward Koch. While reviewing the paperwork, I noticed a loan application. I thought it was odd that I would need to borrow money to get a new job. Apparently there is training required that costs around $20,000.

One of my secret projects has been discovered by a spam bot that is posting a lot of comments in a test blog. I had not checked on the site since August and now there are over 20,000 spam comments. The test site is configured to send me an email notification whenever a comment is made, but I have never received a notification for any comment, except for my own tests, until today. I received a few hundred email notifications overnight. I have not changed any code on the site, which means the change that occurred is in the mail system. I think that GMail may have been blocking them. More than half of the notifications are going into my spam section.

The rain was unusually heavy when I left for work. I don't recall ever having seen such intense rain before.

An old project got resurrected around 4PM. It was something I had discussed with the owner of a wholesale bakery over a year ago. He finally answered a question I had about it, and he handed me some documents with sample data.

Around 5:30, two purchases were made on the diamond site that I redesigned a few months ago. Those were the first two purchases since the site officially opened more than two years ago.

At 6:30, I visited a client that I had not seen in two years. She hugged me and kissed me on the cheek. I found that quite odd, because she had never done that before. She also invited me to visit her new office, which is especially weird, because the invitation is not to work there. She is one of my residential clients and she already has people doing technical support work at her office.

Today will be a very difficult day for me. After getting a few days of rest, I need to gradually ease into work. That will not happen today. In addition to being a Monday, which means extra early wakeup for me, I have a full day of work which includes two emergency repairs. I generally try to reduce my work load on Mondays because the early wakeup impairs my cognitive abilities sufficiently to interfere with my ability to do my work properly. I have to focus with extreme effort on Mondays to avoid causing catastrophic irreversible damage. This could be bad.

WTF? I was shopping on buy.com and I thought it had to be a mistake. I assumed it really meant "see price in cart", which I abhor. It was a camera with a list price of $379. I would have purchased it if the sale price was under $200. I added it to the cart and saw that I really needed to go through with the checkout procedure to see the price. This has to be illegal. The risk of accidentally buying this product seems too high.

My bank apparently does not allow me to block future credit/debit card charges unless the exact amount is known beforehand, and they charge $32 for 6 months of blocking if the amount is known.
