Blog-Stalk Confessions: Quick recap...

Football was okay. Game was good. My friend has a lot of hot stepsisters and sisters. There was also an elderly guy at the party who kept taking pictures of the girls. I do not know what his relationship to the family is. It might have been a neighbor. Either way, I was the only person who thought the picture taking thing was creepy. Guess the rest of them were not paying attention to the look on his face.

I totally need to date a girl from Long Island. Not only do they watch football, but they actually like it.

Well, two of them liked it. The others kept asking questions, which I was of course very happy to answer. I like to hear myself talk, yknow.

It was a good evening. The family is very friendly. My friend could not stay awake for the whole thing. He is coming along though. Last time I saw him, he could not stand on his own. Now he's able to walk a bit. He still needs to be helped along, but it is progress. He has a big doctor's appt. later this week. They are trying to assess how much more chemo he will get and when to start him on it.

Also, I did not win the Buffy sketchbook. I was outbid with seven seconds to go, which I totally expected. Had I been home to do the last minute thing, I'd have won it for sure. Meh. There will be other chances down the road.

In conclusion, girls who like football are better than girls who don't. TRUE STORY.

I totally forgot to sleep last night. I dozed here and there, but no real sleep.

This morning I worked a 10k race. My assigned partner was a wonderfully eccentric woman in her mid 60's. I wish I had an interest in running. Runners usually are very interesting people for some reason.

After that, I played football. Probably a mistake, but a fun one. Now my everything hurts and I just want to sleep, but I also want to stay up and watch SNL. A friend of mine is going to be background in a sketch. The host is Channing Tatum. That's pretty cool, I guess. I think the only movie of his that I have seen is GI Joe.

Oh wait. Stop-Loss too. That was decent movie.

He's also pretty hot. So is his wife. I'd do them both, in a hetero way.

Someone set a fire in Prospect Park today. We saw it from a few hundred yards away, in a thicket of trees. Or a fire happened, but we think someone set it. Good thing it wasn't a very windy day. I might have had to run for my life or something. It was put out fairly quickly.

While in the grocery today I noticed a scratch-off lottery ticket. The ticket offered a chance to win a hundred grand a year for the rest of your life. It cost $30. Thirty dollars for a single scratch-off ticket. And the machine is full of tickets of all denominations. Legal gambling yay?

Also, I spent a couple of hours last night reading up on the current news out of Israel and Iran. Lol end of the world is drawing near.

But before we all start nuking each other... I am going to go see a free country concert on Monday. Dierks Bentley. Woohoo free stuff.

I need to decide how much I am willing/able to spend on my most wanted item on my comic book want list.

Once upon a time in 2007, a semi-popular artist was hired to draw a comic book series based on a cult tv show. He was only vaguely aware of the show's popularity. This artist, as many comic artists do, produced a limited edition sketchbook of his preliminary sketches for the series. Items like these are usually sold at conventions. Approximately 1,000 were made before he embarked on his first tour after the series premiered. They were reasonably priced at $20, and the artist did a head sketch for each purchaser. Having severely underestimated the popularity of the series, he sold out after a few shows. A majority of those books were purchased by rabid fans of the tv show, people who rarely touched comics and are probably mostly unaware of the huge collector market. These books became very hotly pursued items. When I met the artist for the first time, I asked him about it. He told me that he has not been to a show since selling out where at least 10-20 people don't ask him about that book. He eventually released other sketchbooks, and I have all of those.

001

I have not seen one of the first one up for sale in almost two years. The last time I saw one listed, it sold at about $75. Totally reasonable. The only reason I did not buy it then was (prepare to get all gooey and weepy) that I had a limited amount of money to spend and I got my then-girlfriend tickets to a broadway show she really wanted to see for her birthday instead. That was of course a huge mistake. (Kidding. Honest.)

Anyway, another one is now up for sale. It closes on Sunday, while I will be at my friend's house to watch the Super Bowl. I am usually the kind of person who sits obsessively at the computer (shocking, right?) and places my bid in the last minute, to keep from being the guy who drives the price too high. In this instance, I have no idea what the closing price will be and I will not be able to be at the computer. The range can really be anywhere from $50 to $500. So yeah. I need to decide what the most I want to pay for this is.

In other news... Chicken in Worcestershire sauce... Y/N?
